When You Stop Thinking, You Start Stinking
Why do you think
philosophers like Socrates, Plato and Aristotle; are called great thinkers? Is
it because they had more powerful brains than ordinary human beings? Or is it
that they were closer to God than us? No, I think they knew that their birth on
earth was to cause a rebirth.
The truth of the matter
is that these were men of great thoughts. They delved deep in critical and
creative thinking. They thought of transforming and reforming the world, and
leaving it a better place than they found it. That is why their names remain
deep-seated in the annals of world’ srichest history. They generated refined knowledge;
hence we remember them as trailblazers, path-finders and pacesetters. They
stand tall as exceptional towering figures in the world’s chronicles. In terms
of knowledge, they remain to be heavy-weights.
Great thinkers are
immortal. They don’t die. When they die, we say a hero/heroine has fallen. They
live forever and ever. Think of prolific writers like Prof. Chinua Achebe;
renowned orators like Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; great inventors like Thomas
.A. Edison; adroit politicians like Nelson Mandela; eco-warriors like Prof.
Wangari Mathai. Even if they died, their names and unrivaled fame
are stronger than the ugly monster called Mr. Death.
Many seminal writers
have written books on potent powers of thinking. Napoleon Hill crafted Think and Grow Rich. And the world
greatest neurosurgeon- Dr. Benjamin Carson, penned Think Big. History is shaped by great thinkers, not mediocre
thinkers. As Bishop Dr. David Oyedepo- the founder of Winners Chapel Intel’ opines; thoughts of mediocrity make mediocre
men, but thoughts of greatness make great men.
Anywhere you’re- be it
a company, university, school, church, or home; if you stop thinking, you start
stinking. Those who refuse to think on how to create wealth, begin to ooze with
the stench of abject poverty. Students, who refuse to think critically on how
to change their grades, commence to exude with the stench of mediocre grades
like Ds for Disaster and Es for Embarrassment.
Mediocre thoughts will
shroud you with a thick cloud of shame; hence denying you fame. The Bible
admonishes; as a man thinketh, so he is (Proverbs 23:7, KJV). Therefore, from
today henceforth; you can choose to think big, think of great exploits, and
think of a roaring success.

Socrates, Plato and Aristotle were great because of thinking right. is it possible to have such thinkers in Kenya?
